The B40 is back!

The event for drivers under 40 in cars pre 1940

Residents of the Central Victoria are on full alert as the Aussie B40 Rally comes to them this year! Based in Castlemaine and surrounds, the rally will be based on the formula that worked so very well last year:

Friday afternoon: Convoy to Castlemaine

Friday night: Pub dinner/welcome followed by night trial, followed by more pub!

Saturday morning: Tour to Newstead for lunch (kindly organised by members of the Veteran Car Club, Vic)

Saturday afternoon:  Vintage Sports Car Club are hosting us at the Newstead gymkhana where you will have the opportunity to really give your driving skills a test, or sit back and enjoy some prewar cars getting put through their paces!

Saturday late afternoon: scenic drive back to Castlemaine before a pub dinner.

Sunday morning: Race the steam train to Maldon via the lineside bush tracks carved into gold country.

Sunday Lunch: Farewell lunch and presentation of prizes.

The recommended accommodation for the weekend is at the Castlemaine Central Cabin and Van Park or somewhere close by. Give them a buzz and mention the Vintage Drivers Club, B40 Rally when booking.  Ph. 5472 2160.  There’s a variety of cabins available there, so you should be able to find something to suit your needs.

They can accommodate a some car trailers, so get in early if you want to trailer a car there.  Alternate trailer parking offsite may be organised if required later on though, so no need to stress too much.

It’s going to be a ripper event and we’re hoping to grow on what we started last year!
