Social media is an appealing option for recording and celebrating Club activities amongst members, and potentially sharing them with a wider audience.
Respect for privacy and consent must be observed, so that participants in photographs and videos have their image shared only with their agreement.
Photos, videos of children are not to be included.
Social Media is defined as any online platform or site on which posts can be shared with others, or on which comments can be posted, being visible to other users.
Members participating on social media are expected to display courtesy, honesty and respect and they must comply with relevant laws and regulations.
No social media account representing VDC will be created without authority of the Executive Committee.
No image, video, post or comment may contain
Abusive or inappropriate comment.
Profanity or material that would offend contemporary standards of taste and decency.
Inappropriate sexual language.
Discriminatory material in relation to a person or group based on the Equal Opportunities Act of Victoria.
Statements that would breach human rights.
. Materials that would breach applicable laws including but not limited to:
Content that is false or misleading.
Copyright of trademark protected materials.
Personal details of club members that may breach privacy or defamation laws.
Statements that may be considered to be bullying or harassment.
Materials that could bring VDC into disrepute, including
Discussion of Club business.
Confidential information about VDC, its members, suppliers or sponsors.
Ridicule of any VDC member or office bearer.
Ridicule of any non-member.
